The event will take place from the 11th to the 13th of December 2024 at the Birbal Sahni Institute of Palaeosciences in Lucknow. We have thoughtfully curated 10 major themes that cover a range of disciplines within sedimentology and stratigraphy, incorporating multidisciplinary approaches. The main objective is to convene experts, scientists, researchers, academicians, and industry professionals from various sub-disciplines of sedimentology to discuss the intricacies of sedimentary processes, environments, and energy resources across different geological eras, and to foster the exchange of innovative ideas. The conference will include plenary sessions, keynote addresses, invited talks, oral presentations, and poster sessions centered around the selected themes. Additionally, post-conference field trips are planned. The conference aims to further sedimentological research, promote the sustainable use of sedimentary resources, and deepen our understanding of sedimentary processes and environments in areas of geological and environmental importance. For more information about the conference, please visit our website <a href="https://indiansedimentologists.com/IAS%20First%20Circular_BSIP.pdf">Copy of 40TH CONVENTION OF INDIAN ASSOCIATION OF SEDIMENTOLOGISTS (indiansedimentologists.com)</a>. Sedimentology is a complex field that is crucial for deciphering Earth's history, the origin and evolution of life, managing energy and mineral resources, tackling environmental challenges, reducing geological risks, exploring climate change, and aiding civil engineering and construction endeavours. Over the past five to six decades, a systematic, process-based study has been conducted, with the introduction of the 'Sequence Stratigraphy' paradigm in the analysis of modern and ancient sedimentary environments.</p> <p><strong>Dr. Arvind Kumar Singh </strong></p> <p><strong>9953267756 </strong></p> Journal of The Indian Association of Sedimentologists (peer reviewed) 2022-12-31
